K1 with shortie Lipos?
Seeing as the new KF can be converted to run shorties and the rear end is pretty much K1 could the conversion kit also be fitted to the K1?
|
Yes!

No the right rear bulkhead has a slot in the side for the belt tensioner, the k1 has the imprint but no slot. But I guess you could fit the bulkhead too.

Is this the right part ?
Schumacher Aluminum Layshaft Mount (Right) U4466 |
U4464 is the right rear (wrong pic on site)
and conversion U4456 (belt etc) NOTE I have no idea if the distance from diff to lay shaft pulley will allow this to work or is the same between the two as the standard belt between the two is a different length |
Thanks for clearing the part # up Mark  .... The belt size seems the only grey area now...

I have been informed by a reliable source that the factory is currently developing a K1 shorty lipo conversion kit ... due '14 ... hopefully early

Well that is very disappointing - I ordered and have received the shorty lipo conversion kit which includes a lay shaft, new belt and battery "holder" and have not had time to fit it as yet. As this was in the schumacher build instructions and on the web site etc. I will have a look when I have time to see if it fits but it's quite poor to advertise something as a configurable change and then it not to actually work |
