why won't it work

Ok I've got a new revention esc and 5.5t combo and new code rc radio gear.it's all wired up, I've got steering but can't get the motor moving, sensor cable is connected. I've got a red and yellow led lit on the esc.

The esc instructions say "in normal use, with the throttle at neutral and the sensor wire connected both will be lit" as both remain lit, does this mean the receiver is not seeing the throttle signal?

Esc has been calibrated too.

Have you got your A, B, C, Red Yellow Blue correct as some won't run or if it does it will / may cause damage,
Does your instruction say to reverse throttle channel? You will have to re calibrate if you change it now

Yep, blue yellow orange wires as instructions, it says to reverse throttle ONLY for Futaba radios?

The motor is twitching during the calibration process?

Not sure on the revenation, but on the 2.0's you could plug the wire from rx to esc in the wrong way round so at the esc signal wire is in the nevative etc. one of our club members did it after giving his car a realy good rebuild, took me quite a while to figure out what was the problem:lol:

It was easy to do as the speed passion loom was 3xblack wires from rx to esc

not sure if it helps but maybe worth a look

I had this same problem with code radio. Check the levers near the top of the radio. God knows why but one of them locks out channel 1 when switched down.

check levers at the top check them and set throttle to reverse I have code and that's what I have to do.

reverse throttle is in the menus, and if one of the levers is down I think top left it wont work set them all up I think

the levers at the top are crap :)

I had the same issue with the code radio and you do need to reverse the channel, try that and re-calibrate.

Would the steering still work if it was the wrong way round?

That's sorted it, switches up, throttle set to reverse, recalibrate.

Thanks chaps!

It would appear throttle hold is for IC engine start up, to limit full throttle, I guess until the engine warms up. Default value is zero percent so if it's switched on it zeros the throttle signal.

Not sure why it has to be reversed though.
