Couger SV2 Power

Have just bought one of these second hand as a roller, what motor and esc , batt package is recomended. Getting back into cars after a 7 year break, things have changed so much, it used to be 27t brushed with 7.2v nicad. I dont mind going down that route, not looking fo loads of power yet, need to get back in control!!!! But what is best, I have 3s lipo's from flying, but don't think these are suitable.

Speed passion speedos and motor are good, a 7.5 turn motor, Orion Carbon 5500 saddle pack batteries.

make sure you gat at least a 120 amp speedo 2 to 3 S not a 1 to 2 S those are what I use others may say different

Only type to avoid are the LRP flow speedo, it was far to much for off road.

I and others found the LRP Flow a handful on our Astro track, we could not set it up to give a smooth power curve.
And if Andy is just starting again he might find it a bit tricky, there was no criticism meant

Dualsky are good value and as smooth or powerfull as you want

What about brushed system, or would this be a waste in this car?

mark christopher 07-11-2013 10:40 PM

a budget brushless would be better and last longer and no brushes or wear, just get sensored system over sensor
less

Lrp flow
Lrp x20 7.5t
Reedy 5700 65c saddle

Lrp Flow ive been using for a good while with no issues, it is very tuneable and delivers a smooth power band - especially when paired with x20 lrp motors.

Ive also been using LRP shorties - very powerful and durable.

Plenty to go on here, thanks for the replies, I know a bit more now than I did a couple of days go, the difference between sensored and sensorless seems important. Time to go shopping.
