Finnish Winter Jumps -series (Videos inside)
 

Hello oOplers,

In Finland we run Indoor Electric Off-Road Series called Winter Jumps.
This year the series has 7 events and best 4 of results are counted. Events
are run all over the Finland as southest event is in Vantaa next to Helsinki
and northest in Oulu 400 miles north from Helsinki.

We run three classes: 2WD & 4WD modified and new for this season 2WD Stock (blinky, 17.5t).

First race was held last weekend in Vantaa. In 4WD local drivers dominated the race as there was only two drivers from other clubs in 10 car A-main. In 2WD the field was more diverse and we saw some new faces in A-main.

Event #2 - Oulu

Second event of the series was the northest one held in Oulu. Oulu is positioned 600 km north from Helsinki so kinda long drive for some racers.

Temporary track was laid in the very same gym hall where 1:12 EFRA EC 2013 was held before this year. The layout had one proper jump which proofed pretty even racing.

Third event will be run at Nokia on 14th of december.

Event #3: Nokia

Third event of the series was held at Nokia. The venue is run by local RC club PRCA and it's open all year around. For the Winter Jumps -event the track was rebuilt and right from the start it was pretty clear the front jump straight would bring some random elements to racing.
In this event we had three classes: 4WD modified, 2WD modified and 2WD 17.5t stock.

Qualifying was four rounds and favorites pretty much held their pace.

Starting grid for the mains was set up in to sweeper right before the notorious jump straight and mayhem was ready. :D

Event #4: Turku

Fourth event of the series was held at Turku. Track shares warehouse with Finnish hobbyshop Hobbylinna. Painted concrete surface in warehouse offers pretty good grip for off-road purposes. The track was built with fast layout and pretty easy jumps offered even competition.
In this event we had three classes: 4WD modified, 2WD modified and 2WD 17.5t stock.

As a side note: Our series has grown so big this winter, we are close to a point where we just don't have enought time to run these events in one day. In Turku there was nearly 90 entries and schedule was over 12 hours.
