Micro racing in Dewsbury back on.

Hi folks,i have just recieved good news from Simon Dixon that 1/18 racing is back on in Dewsbury on Wednesday evenings.
For more info go to http://teambodgeitrc.com/
New carpets so should be no more fluff build up.

First meeting this Wednesday 10/9/08

MRD 06-09-2008 07:03 PM

No fluff, YEAAAAAAAAAAA,

Hey twisty, I got my 5B running on Thursday, took the fuel line out of the tank, kept pulling the starter, after a few pulls it started to pop then it started running lumpy so I gave it some throttle till the fuel in the line ran out, stuck the line back in the tank and fired it up again and kept reving it until it stopped bogging down. After a few mins it was running super. It was just flooded and gunked up but without cuting the fuel it couldnt use the stuff up that was in the crank. Oh well, lol, at least I didn't have chance to get it mucky

See ya Wed if you're going, whats the cost this time?

jimmy 06-09-2008 08:04 PM

Good news. the last time I went was terrible for fluff, I went from winning meetings to coming last in the bottom final because of the fluff  nightmare!!!

I'll definitely make it along sometime.

Great fun tonight. The new carpet is propper Primafelt stuff,so no fluf and plenty of grip,it`s also quite a bit bigger area than before.

is it back in the proper hall like it was originally? or that silly little room with nowhere to pit?

twisty 10-09-2008 10:21 PM

It was in the smaller sports hall, but they had a shakedown meeting last week apparently and that was the Main hall.
I`ll ask Simon D if/why it can`t always be in the Main hall, cos it`s definately better with more room.
I think he is working on better track markers and some jumps too.
Will let ya know.
:)

Hi Jimmy,
it is because of school exams taking priority so the club gets the short straw. There is enough room in the small hall for current numbers though.
:)

Oscar 29-10-2008 09:09 AM

Anyone got a postcode/ address for this place??

EDIT:: Think I found it

Earlsheaton High school
Old Bank Road
Dewsbury
West Yorkshire
WF12 7DW

Is that correct??

jimmy 29-10-2008 09:24 AM

haha, micro stuff hasn't been touched for ages! I just did a spray can job on the buggy shell and wired it up - had a blast round the kitchen and all seems good :)

jimmy 29-10-2008 10:51 PM

Good stuff tonight. A 1-2 for team oOple! Tho john price beat me by 3/4 of a lap - he's fast is that lad.

Club has definitely improved since last time I went - new carpet is loads better and the layouts were better. Not sure what was going on with the track changes - especially putting the mats after the jumps for the finals - bit mad was that

Next meeting is in 2 weeks I think?

MRD 30-10-2008 08:45 PM

Some good racing last night, I still got pole for the final tho :D, and I'm so generous I gave it away after the first ramp, Oh well, cant be beating the new boys straight away or they might not come back ;).

They put the mats after the jumps to save the carpet from the M03 that was diving off the ramps and tearing holes in the rug during practice, atho why they didnt take the mats away before the race I dont know.

At least it gives me an excuse for comming 3rd.

Next meeting 12 Nov, You coming again Jimmy?

jimmy 30-10-2008 10:29 PM

totally forgot but I'll be in australia! oops.. I'll be back in december tho and eager for more. Next time, if they do anything like that we'll vote and remove it for the A final (assuming we make it into the A of course) - just like we had a proper grid of sorts in the A. The mats definitely stuffed me a couple of times as I'd not driven on them before the final and got it wrong!

Oscar 30-10-2008 11:32 PM

I enjoyed yesterday:D It was like a family type club, just what the hobby needs to bring on the future generation.
Unfortunately I work untill 9pm, so sneaking out early is a once in a while occasion i'm afraid:thumbdown:
Keep it running, and I'll be back (sometime)
