Diff Float

Just pt together the diffs on my mr4bx, and even when tightened there is float in the diff pulleys? Is this normal and just caused by the pulley being narrower than the gap beteen the outdrive halves, or have I got something wrong? I'm using 3/32 balls by the way!

Just asking as I haven't had that happen on other cars I've built diffs for, the 501x or Aero!?

Normal. No probs. :)
Think it's the 3/32" diff balls but can't say as never ran the std ones. The float makes for a free transmission though.

you have to have some float or the diff halfs would be rubbing against the diff, which would stop the diff plate hitting the diff balls, and stop the diff working.

Yeah I realize it needs to do that, but never before had diffs with visible float before! Sounds all fine though!
