I hope someone can help, has anyone got any Astute D parts. I need this for a winter race rebuild.

Yes that's the part I'm after, the front part was alway weak in the day. But on mine the rear shock tower mount has cracked at the mounting points. I have been looking in to having either carbon or alloy one being made up.

Is that the rear suspension blocks?
I have ordered a set of alloy ones from Pargustore http://www.pargustore.com/tamiya-ast...mount-set.html As for the front end, can you use Madcap items? http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/inde...howtopic=68099 This thread might be of some use? |
There good parts and I can see how they would be of benifit for sure. What I'm after is the black plastic moulding that mounts from the rear shock tower to the front of the gearbox and chassis pan.

Looking at the D Part tree for the Mad Cap the rear mount doesn't look that different to the Astute item. I'd be surprised if it didn't fit.
In the 2nd link above post 18 mentions the rear mount. |
I've seen a lot of options to improve the car, i have a mad cap on its way from flebay and some new wheels and steering arms. Now ive just got to mate the parts all up. Been talking about making the front mounts of hard nylon think ill try both options. I do remember snapping a few front end when i last raced the car. Im also going to add some of the Jamie Booth mods to.
I did not realize how different the Super Astute was until now jK |
How did the astute racing go?? Any hints/improvements to the car? Did you keep the front anti roll bar on?
Any tips for my build would be appreciated |
