New opening page!!!!

Very nice indeed. I love new stuff!! Love the new front page. Change is good.

jimmy 03-09-2008 01:16 AM

haha cheers bud, I need this change sometimes to relieve the boredom of opening the site for the 50th time that day:thumbsup: It's rare I deviate from my off-white sandy coloured background, but one of Craggys car from the neo race deserved special treatment :)

On another subject - I'm always on the limits with all the crap I've got open, photoshop, dreamweaver, illustrator etc etc.. so I don't use background images on my computers - but for those that like them, I've added a couple I did last year but never got round to uploading.
A 1600 pixel wide one of Hayato's B4 on the grid for the world champs. and a 1280 pixel wide shot of the X6 review car. I'll delete a few of the older ones on there in the near future so if anyone wanted one - get it now! :)

I like the new page also, too bad your backgrounds arnt for wide screen.

jimmy 04-09-2008 11:32 PM

perhaps I should move critical content to the safe areas (erm, move any logos or text to a more central location so it doesn't cut off) - but these should look fine on a widescreen monitor.
That said, I use dual 21" monitors, not widescreen, so I don't know the common sizes - what sort of size are you talking about? maybe in the future I can do a wider aspect ratio as well.

mole2k 05-09-2008 04:21 AM

I think thewide-screen ratio is 16:10 with the main resolutions being 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200 and 2560x1600. I think the majority of screens are native 1680x1060.

ace028 05-09-2008 04:48 AM

1680x1050, running a Apple Imac. Now that I have wide screen, don't know how I could live without it before lol. (will never go back to pc)

Wide screen is pretty good, 2 monitors is better

Dunc 05-09-2008 10:14 AM

2 wide-screen monitors is better still ;)

True  They are so cheap now, I could have had a couple of nice ones for 200 that someone at work was selling - one of my current monitors cost me 1080 pounds! - it is 10 years old tho.

ahhh I had one of those, mine was deeper than it was wide! used old networkstyle plugs for input, think it had 5 or 7 of them did have a lovely pic, think its in a landfill now:( was £1200+ new

Dunc 05-09-2008 11:05 AM

£1,080!!! That must be one serious bit of kit.

I have to say that having two monitors is great; I'd find it hard to go back to just the one.
