Work party this sunday

Hi all

We are not due to race this sunday, but I was planning to head up there for a few hours with some strimmers rakes mowers etc to start tidying the dirt track in preparation for the rotovator and roller, also maybe lift some of the pipe off the grass track in preparation for some new pipe

If anyone one is able to come up there for an hour or two let me know as the more we get the faster we get things done....and things need doing:woot:.

don't plan to be up there all day just see what times work best for every one

Dave

im up for that mate just have to let me know what time

Leedsey 14-09-2013 10:51 AM

Sorry Dave
Too late for me to cancel other things.
If you can't get enough people this week, what about couple hours for all by arranging a 9.00 clock meet up, prior to club meet?

I'm going to head up there around 10.30 as the weather looks to be closing in mid afternoon.

I might come up too, I feel I owe some labour since some wallly jumped on the table top . Would be light(ish) duties as I strained my back friday while at work though it has improved today. If I do I'll be there between 10:30-11, if it's a no show I apologize in advance !

craigieboy46 14-09-2013 08:15 PM

alright dave ill see you at 10.30

racingdwarf 15-09-2013 07:26 PM

Big thank you to craig and dan today we have cut all the grass and weeds from the dirt track and cleared them away in preparation for the rebuild:thumbsup: also done a bit of tidying up and strimming around the grass track.

Between myself and craig we have come up with a plan to get get the new gate post in and get the dirt track up and running before the next meeting

Heading up to the track again this sunday. I will have a 2T digger to get to work on making the dirt track just a bit more interesting and also making a few changes to the grass track.

could do with some help as I plan to do the following on sunday & I'm there again monday with the big roller and the digger if need be. I need to try and get the following done

1)totally lift the pipe from the grass track ready for rolling so it's smooooooth again
2) lift the astro from the bomb hole on the grass track as I plan to fill this in.
3) dismantle the old tabletop so the area can be rolled as the new larger tabletop will be else where
4) help with a rake to shape the new jumps and contours on the dirt.
5) to use some of the pipe from the grass track on some of the new parts of the dirt as the grass track will be having all new pipe on the infield in the next week or so

I plan a long day on the digger, as I do have it booked for monday as well, but if I can get all the digger work done sunday I can return it at the same time as collecting the roller, saving having both machines on monday, thus saving quite a few quid:D so If anyone is about to help with all the other jobs it will save me getting off the seat for a couple of hours losing digger time:thumbdown:

I will also have my tipping trailer up there to move soil around the tracks

Any of your time would be much appreciated I will be there all day from bought 8am till dusk

Dandare 19-09-2013 09:34 PM

I have a family christening sunday, can't think of much I'd rather be doing less tbh

It's at 10:30ish so if I happen to get away early enough I'll come up but I have my doubts...

Loving the plans though, looking forward to some great winter racing !

racingdwarf 24-09-2013 10:35 PM

dirt track is done, grass track is all rolled and new table top is all done I hope to get the new pipe for the grass track this week. The dirt track is very different when I last built it the feed back was that it was nice and flowing, but a bit flat! and I agree it was, so this time I employed some diffrent toys to build it so this time we have way more things going on including a new table top, a drop in banked corner a BIG kicker that has worked out even better than planed and then many other things to slow the lap down, see what people think on sunday

No photos dan, I think a few people were taking some on sunday but I don't think there were any taken on monday.

Must say a big thank you to everyone who gave up some time on sunday and a few who came on monday. I was not expecting the turn out we had and without everyone we would never have got all the grass track jobs done, by my calculations of what my trailer will tip our new table top has aprox 15T of soil in it!

I must say a huge thank you to craig, he was there all day both days and I don't think I ever looked up and saw him not grafting at something, sunday I was there at 7.45 he was there by 8.30 we left In the dark sunday night, monday I had swapped the digger for the roller we were at the track by 9 and again left after dark 2 very very long days! and no matter if he had no idea of the madness in my head when building some of the new parts of the track:lol:

simonrhart 25-09-2013 06:03 AM

hats off to you all! :)
