Are all sensor cables the same?

Are all sensor cables the same? I just got a reply to a question I asked a manufacturer and they said I should use a specific sensor lead as

"some motors have different sensor settings"

Does this sound right?

Some of the sensor cables have odd things going on with the temp sensor wiring.

I ALWAYS run Orion sensor cables with my Orion gear as I've had an issue with a 3rd party cable in the past forcing the ESC in to thermal protection even though the motor was relatively cool.

Never had any issues with the Orion cables when used on other peoples equipment (lent a few out recently), moral here is buy Orion ;)

Where can get orion sensor leads?

They are all the same, GM sensor wires are different at the speedo end.

All other wires at the same, I've used loads of different types with no problems.

Ditto.
In the past I've run LRP, Orion, SpeedPassion and Novak with the same "no-brand" sensor cable with no issues.
Currently run Speedpassion ESC and motor with an LRP cable.

I use nosram ones on nosram speedos or tekin ones on tekin speedos and also the lmr and answer rc cables

As Col, I run a mix of Tekin, Speedpassion, Hobbyking specials etc with no issue's at all (unless of course, the cable gets damaged)
