Reicever causing pt not to work.
Had a wierd problem tonight .
Raced tonight and my pt was missing laps :( Swapped my pt with a mate, he ran mine and I ran his. Same problem, my car still missed laps his counted correctly with my pt . ?? The reciever in my car is sanwa 471 brand new. Can the reciever cause pt issues? Has anyone any ideas proper puzzled by this :( |
Time to sell the car me thinks! :p

Had a similar problem with my sons car. Turned out to be the PT plug, plugged in the wrong way around in the receiver. Positive PT wire was in positive position on receiver, but negative PT wire was in signal position on receiver. worth a check.

are you racing GT12/12th scale? if you are and you are using a 1cell lipo you should have a voltage booster the reciver won't power pts if you don't have a booster or it is not working it will also slow down your servo if the booster does not work.
hope this helps :) |
What voltage is your ESC giving the Reciever and by any chance do you have any brown outs?

It is in a buggy with a 7.4v lipo. 2 different transponders were tried and neither counted properly although did in other peoples cars on the same night. Both were plugged in correctly. Power light was on on the pt to show it had power but just wouldnt count. He had even changed speedo but that made no difference. Also tried it in a different port on the reciever but still nothing???? Weird!
 |
Is the pt mounted on any device like servo or does you car have a metal chassis and the Pt is stuck to it, Maybe try moving it to see will it gain a better signal.
I had issues in my 1/8 buggy the other week , when i stuck everything into the battery box i put the pt on it side between the rx and the rx lipo pack to hold it steady. I had desperate trouble with missing laps all throughout heats. Once moved it and mounted it flat in a slightly different place a had no issues. |
The only thing thats not been used before in the car is the 471 Sanwa reciever:(
The pt is mounted flat on the chassis . The speedo, motor, etc have all come from my other car . Very puzzling . |
Think you'll find wardy that you have to do some laps for it to count them! Time for the boating:woot:

Power everything up without the PT in and get someone with voltage checker to check how many volts the channel is coming out with, you might not be supplying enough power to PT. Also take a look at your BEC or built in BEC settings.
All the best. |

power cap
put a power cap in the receiver, solves any power drop issues for PT, Servo etc. solves a multitude of sins for a fiver.

Read my mind ;) thanks mate . |
why not just reposition the pt,i had this once with a brand new pt,when I moved it to the top of the servo it was fine
they don't always like being flat on the chassis especially if its ali |
