TRF 501X FRONT ONE WAY #53951

Hi, please can anyone tell me if the Tamiya front one way kit #53951 is better to have installed rather than the 37 tooth pully that comes supplied with the 501X WORLD EDITION, sorry but I don't know much about this and would value your comments.

thanks all
Carl Hughes

The front one-way is a great option.

The front one-way does not fit on the 37 tooth pulley. The pulley internal diameter is to small to allow the one-way through the center. (I only just found this yesterday while trying to fit the one-way to my 501XWCE.)

The options are

Use the 35 tooth pulley that comes with the one-way kit. This will over drive the front wheels - by a lot.

Or purchase the 36 tooth pulley and adaptor plate, still over drives the front wheels.

Or drill out the 37 tooth pulley to fit.

Or purchase the centre one-way kit. (this is my choice because you can keep the front diff and the same drive front and back.)

Looks like the #54023 37T pulley is the way to go! Thanks Hairy.

(The 501XWCE kit 37T pulley number is #53988.)

The front one way DOES fit the 37 pulley so long as you use the 37T one-way pulley and the adapter as well. I should know, since that's what I using at the moment.

The one with the big hole is for the one way but you have to use the adaptor plate make it fit centrally.
