Any experience using Gens Ace Lipo?

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, using the Gens ace Lipo batteries such as this one?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey David,
I havent seen anyone using them, but know that they are very popular in the US. So I wouldnt be thinking that they were sub standard.

They are pretty popular here in Sweden.
Im not sure how the punch is in a 4wd though. THey are on the cheaper side of approved lipos here. Its nice that way we can support the LHS

Used them in the past (the 5300MHa 65c version), found them to be really good batteries, esp for the money.

Thanks for your comments guys, seems they are ok from what I've read. I'll be doing a bit of TC racing over the winter for a bit of fun, its only 13.5t so the cells will do me ok I think. Thanks again

+1 for this brand, I bought a couple of 5000mAh off a friend on here and they have been great. It did once disharge them to the point of cutoff (set to 6.4v on my esc) and they recharged with 5300.

Now they've brought out a shorty pack, this will be my next purchase:

I've been using the 50c 5000mAh stick packs for a while now in my buggy and touring car and in all honesty I can't fault them at all, plenty of punch and at about £30 a pop great value for money. What's not to like?

Cant say that much about the Gens Ace, have known a couple of people who had them, with no complaints though.

But to reply to the thread that was closed and directed here...

I'd avoid the Turnigy Nanotech, especially their shorty pack.
I have 3, all of which after about 3 or so months, showed large drops in punch and capacity intake.

Right now they only take in around 3000mah and have punch till the 2nd or 3rd lap.

I just replaced them with SMC's.

i use gens saddles on my buggys and they work great, as much punch as the 100$ batteries, much better than turnigy.

I've got 4 packs of the 4800 saddles.

Had them since start of year and used them in my and my son's 2WD with 7.5t motors and in a 4WD with a 6.5T. They get used and charged upto 3 times a day each often charging them straight after a race. Absolutely zero swelling on any of them and never had issue with lack of power/punch.

I'll run them until the start of next season and then probably replace them with new ones although probably not really necessary.

At under £100 for 4 sets I really can't fault them. I just cannot justify spend £70-80 a pack when I cannot see how they will get me around the track any quicker.

I guess a really top driver might notice some difference in punch/power but if I needed more of these I'd adjust my speedo or motor up. Never been at a race meeting when I could not have more power than I could control:woot:
