ecks wooden frames.

Just ordered one of these frames. As I love flying my 330 Quad more then the 450, I've decided to transplant the components onto this cool wooden frame :)

The plywood frame weights in at around 150g to 180g depending on how it's sanded / finished.

The DJI 330 is 156g.
The DJI 450 is 282g.

So - basically it's no heavier than a similar sized Quad and it won't flex as much.

Should look lovely once I stain & wax it, love the idea of it looking a bit more retro.

I've seen these kicking about on RCG, but always assumed they were either aluminum or carbon.
Ordered direct from ecks, or is there a distributor?

Ordered direct.

£41 posted from Sweden for an unfinished - plain wood one as I want to 'finish' it myself.

Bargain!
I don't think I've heard a bad thing about these frames

Any of you chaps know where to buy some 10 or 15amp small - Simon K esc's for this frame? Ideally in the UK.

I've ordered some Afro's but I think they may be too big and a bit overkill as reading the frame thread - people are running tiny 10amp esc's and very small / light motors.

Not simonK, but purpose designed for multirotor, so pretty almost perfect

Frame arrived today - still waiting on a few bits and pieces. 10amp esc's are tiny - hope they will be up to the job!

Looks really good. I like the standoff and perspex cover for the kk2 as well. Is that just hk plastic spacers and a piece of perspex or like a ready made kit for the kk2. Following on from our telephone conv if I dont find something suitable ill probably do something similar.

What kind of finish are you going to do with the frame. Should have ordered 2 as id be scared to fly it ha ha. With something looking so nice, your going to have to do a major super neat radio install with all the wires perfectly to size. Hmm maybe order 3 then. 1 to fly, 1 as a shelfer and 1 show off just how neat you can make it but too perfect to fly.

Ps might be a small delay in me collecting the 330, few mad plans this week including the builders coming on my days off and a mini break in Morecambe. Shame as iv receivedethe 9xr the modules and the rest was ordered and would be here on tuesday so I cohld have flown it on the beach at Morecambe. I'll be in touch though.
