The Future - The Schumacher Procat

Well I really enjoyed giving the car a run again for the first time in 20 years - Its hard to believe the car itself is nearly 25 years old.

It took a couple of races for the 20year old foams to bed in but, when they did the car gripped really well - The non sensored electrics made it slightly harder to drive but will put some better stuff in for this week. The only thing Im worried about is the long drive belt was skipping under braking (even with the MMS front pulley), ive ordered a new belt but might have to go back to driving without brakes. I would go as far to say it handles better than my SX3 and also seemed better than most other cars out there last Friday.

Cant wait for this Friday see if it can qualify one position higher!!!!

Anyone else fancy a Vintage run???

Lee1972 13-08-2013 01:53 PM

I've got my eye on a vintage car so in theory yes, Callum already has one just needs electrics and a receiver.

And now you are going to have rob racing a modified losi xx with an inboard motor

i distinctly remember him calling us sad...lol

rallymaddaz 13-08-2013 05:11 PM

We should run a vintage class:thumbsup:

Staxman 13-08-2013 06:47 PM

What...just the 2 of you

rallymaddaz 14-08-2013 05:55 AM

So what you looking at Lee - I'm going to take a guess at an RC10??

spennyy2k 14-08-2013 07:54 AM

Let's be honest, I have a fridge freezer that handles better than a sx3

Must admit to being very impressed with the old dog. I know I am not the quickest car/driver at ribble but don't do bad and you weren't that much slower yesterday.

I'm amazed it the drive train can take the punishment of lipo/brushless power and a high grip circuit with foams.

rallymaddaz 17-08-2013 10:46 AM

Old dog - how dare you!!!

IT'S A CAT!!!!!!!!

It went well and must say there was only you quicker - got nobbled in the final, ribble does suffer from poor etiquette
Maybe next week, with a couple more improvements I might make TQ:thumbsup:

New battery straps fitted and both diffs rebuilt just got to put it all back together ready for this week

Andy-j.smith6 19-08-2013 11:20 PM

I'm afraid I'm away with work and won't get back from Stockholm until about 7.30, so won't be there this week.

Good luck. Maybe pole this week!

Scuderia Ocker 20-08-2013 04:14 PM

rallymaddaz 20-08-2013 05:58 PM

You will have to go some to tame the Procat!!!:p

Scuderia Ocker 22-08-2013 05:16 PM

How many laps are you doing in 4 minutes?

rallymaddaz 22-08-2013 07:35 PM

Fast 20 laps in five mins 14 secs lap times

Scuderia Ocker 22-08-2013 09:35 PM

haha x6 claims victory with 21 and a half, not bad from moggy though. I think I may have gone quicker but no way to check as website is down.

rallymaddaz 10-09-2013 11:50 AM

After a two week break the Procat returns to action this Friday, with another few minor improvements - cant wait to give it a go - think I might sell the SX3, Im enjoying the Procat too much.
