Motor spary on brushless motor can ok?

Hi! the title says it all. I am getting mix information about cleaning brushless motor. Some would say no motor spray, some recommend using it. Any of you guys here been using motor spary to clean the can for a long term without any side effects or causing any damage to the motor?

common sense would say strip it down clean with a cleaner which evaporates ie motor cleaner allow to dry lube the bearings and reassemble or just use it till it becomes noisy then do the above

You do not want to use motor cleaner on brushless motors, the cleaner will break down the epoxy on the winds resulting in the good possibility of a burned up motor.

Just use compressed air and a good bearing oil.

what coveres the winds on a bushed motor?

polyurethane coating is common on the copper wire to insulate it.

RickRick, are you wondering what I was wondering? If the coating on BR winds was spray-resistant, why isn't it the same on BL? I think...

On BR motors, it wasn't a coating, it was dipped in epoxy glue to ensure that the wire wasn't thrown off at high revs. On a BL motor, the wire doesn't rotate, so no need for epoxy. It may be that the wire in a BL has a plastic coating that is not resistant to an aggressive chemical like motor spray.

...we need a BL expert to tell all!! :)

This is the reason why I posted this thread to find out if it's just a myth, or it's a fact. I see people with different opinions here already. Good one RickRick, why on BR and not on BL??
