Boughton next weekend

I'm thinking of arranging camping on the Saturday night for the final round of the regional series next week. BBQ, music, beers, maybe some fun evening races....
If you are interested let me know and I will make arrangements, I don't want to organise anything if there is not enough interest.

rcmodelweek 06-08-2013 07:14 AM

No one? I've had a few people interested on the Facebook page, but not enough to warrant organising anything.

Shame, would've been good!!

Any news on start times for the regional yet?

What I really mean is, what ungodly hour do I need to drag myself out of bed at to get a practice in?!

colin76 07-08-2013 04:18 PM

Ben you will need to be there from 3am to practice lol

Only joking mate, even Hubbard has been practicing to make sure he beats you Sunday. Meeting will hopfully start around 8.30.
track open from 7....Barry???

Camping

Hi all,

I understand that there hasn't been much of a take up on camping BBQ music etc but would camping still be available? My journey will be almost 3 hours and with a 7am practise that just mad!

Cheers

What, like you MrH:p

Benh 08-08-2013 01:31 PM

I failed to clear a single obstacle, I missed every single apex and ran the wrong setup. I think all would agree, that is no way to go about gaining an advantage.

Benh 08-08-2013 01:33 PM

Ol' Colon Parsnip on the other hand! Cheat!

Boughton

Anyone who went if the track layout doesn't change has cheated!

rcmodelweek 08-08-2013 05:28 PM

It's only cheating if closed practice takes place, allowing only select people to run. If the meeting is an open meet, and everyone is welcome to enter, then it's just making good use of what's available!

Chris Larner 08-08-2013 05:38 PM

Racing

Hmmm not sure that's in keeping with every other track this year and all other regions.

All tracks were open before but then some changes were made to the layout to enable a more level play field.

There will always be local knowledge like tire choices etc but if a track isn't changed how are people visiting going to stand a chance against people who have driven 1000s of laps round a track.

JohnM 08-08-2013 05:44 PM

Chris, don't worry mate you already know 98% of the lay-out as apart from a little extension at the start of the lap, it's the same as last year;)

The only "cheating" that went on only really applied to last week being a Summer Series meeting, where only Ballistic Buggy tyres should've been used.

Saturday Practise

I can't see how Saturday practise can ever be classed as cheating. It should be allowed and if not encouraged by every club!

Running on a Saturday means that non locals have a chance to get some track knowledge plus extra track time!

On the flip side most clubs will charge for Saturday practise which will also helps the club finances

Just my 2 pennies ( no I didn't practise last week but I'm not bitter!)

Don't worry, no ones driven 1000s of laps, we only hold about 4 meetings a year, the rest of the time no one uses it, not even myself.
