Hey Stu,
I went from the exact same radio as you have now (with all the "jitter" bugs it has) to an old KO Esprit II and then converted it to 2.4Ghz.

Best single upgrade I ever done.
TO be honest, now I would advise going for the newer Esprit III Universe but all good I think.

Bottom line, stepping up from that horrible Etronix (and you will agree its horrible once you get up to speed with your new TX) is a very worthwhile investment I reckon.

I changed from a core rc / etronix lcd about a year ago , to a 2nd hand futaba 3gr ( bought it off here ) and its spot on , you can feel its a better quality handset just by holding it , altho to be honest i never really had any hassle with the core rc set ..but now i'm glad i got ridd of it !!

For new there's also the Futaba 3GR, which would be my choice.

But you can pick up a second hand Futaba 3VCS, Ko Esprit or Sanwa Exzes for considerably less these days. You can pick up KO Esprit 2 sets on 40mhz for £25 these days, just add a cheap Frsky 2.4Ghz conversion.

Why worry what other people think? If you are happy with the product, stick with it. If you don't like it change it.

I had the Etronix (Code) set too and managed to solve the glitching with a power cap on the rx.

But then I bought a second hand Sanwa Gemini II, converted it to 2.4GHz with the FrSky hack module and two receivers, stuck a 3s lipo with 1c discharge in all for less than £75.

Best bit is the receivers are less than £15 each. Thanks Giant Shark and Hobbyking!
