Tamiya Dark Impact

Hi!
I'm looking for a cheap 4WD buggy and I found the DI. Is it a good buggy? How does it handle in the air? Round the corners, top-speed handling, low-speed handling and so on....Can it hold a brushless motor like Mamba MAX?

If you put any decent power through it, you will need the slipper unit (either Tamiya's one, or the RW layshaft to accept a B4 slipper unit). Rear diff needs a little TLC also, other than that, for the price, a very good 4wd, quite nice to drive too.

I'm hoping to review it around Xmas time after and alongside the 501X.. I'd like to review it with some of the official hopups but TUK are out to lunch so I'll review it as standard.
Personally if I was racing it I would want the [RW] slipper and either centre or diff one way.

Where can I buy the slipper unit?n And what's a TLC?? I'm a ultra noob

Any Tamiya stockist should be able to provide you with the Tamiya slipper unit.

TLC - tender loving care, as the holders for the diff plates won't hold up if you set the diff a little loose.

Thanks! Does the Proline tires fit the stndard rims on the DI or do I also need new rims? The stock rims are ugly and the tires don't look to have grip on hard packed sand
