Track preparation for Regional

We need to do some track maintenance in preparation for the regional this weekend.

A working party is needed and will start at 4 pm on Wednesday - all volunteers welcome!

The track is going to be very dry and we have no water facilities so if anyone can bring containers of water this would be helpful.

We have limited equipment so if you are able to bring a strimmer or a jet spray to clean the edgings - or anything else that you think may be useful - this would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dianne

Do we have any astro pieces to patch up the track? There was one really rough looking bit on sunday, that's looks to have been ripped up.
Also we had to gaffer tape the astro on the double hump, as its ripped up mid race.

I've got my petrol strimmer, I'll try get down with that and help out.

We do have some that has not yet been brought to the track but not sure if there is any at the track. I will speak with Steve on this.

I turned up at the track at 6.30 with my strimmer, but the work party had left by then, and looked like they had done a great job. Sorry got held up at work with a client this aft, I had intended to come earlier.

Spoke to Danny, and he, Steve and James had worked hard to make the track look excellent for the weekend.

The questions got to be if the sport centre closes and the land goes for development or the sports centre its self gets refurbished what happens to the outdoor track? If we have to relocate will it be like Bury where the council do it for us or do we have to do it ourselves? If we are relocating where to? when? and should we be looking at starting now rather than later? and in that case do we keep patching spenbrough up till that date rather than overhauling it fully?

Latest news is that the baths stays in some form or another I think.

If Neal's astro find comes up trumps we could do a full overhaul.

Council would not relocate.

Steve Kirk is also making enquiries for us - he has a contact with lots of land - only a few miles from current track - maybe worth pursuing whatever happens at Spen - less vandalism.
