I went the same route a number of years back. You should do it!

It's up to you, but it's not an original Kyosho top deck.

Personally I would get a sheet of G10 fibreglass and make a new top deck, then you can make it whatever shape you want, and still have the original to fit back on at a later date.

You could trace this one on a piece of paper before you put the dremel on it.
It's from JG: I had the same and cut it up also.

If you'd ever decide you want to go back you can then still by the GF10 and use the tracing as a template.
I see you got the wheels sorted... want to tell us what way you went?

I ordered the JG plate from the USA, the wheels are Traxus e revo 1/16th rears and Tamiya Sand Viper fronts with 5mm wider axles
