Team A&L vintage trailing arm cars, transmissions etc..

Personally I really like all the A&L gear and have owned a trailing arm RC10 kit for a while. I have not driven a trailing arm A&L set up but wanted to ask around for people's opinions who have used their stuff.
Also the Lethal Weapon trans with slipper. Anyone use these items?

i have used the steering system for the optima mid and i must say its very costly and foesnt really work. the screws used to hold the crankd bent after collision and also the bearing supplied broke easily. i was better off using the kyosho 39655 blue steering cranks.

I'm surprised to hear some bad reports for the steering parts. I've been using these for years and they've served me well.

How about the Lethal Weapon transmissions, clutches and the trailing arm chassis?

Hi Jason,

The trailing arms work well on dirt tracks. Used to run them here in the UK when we had dirt tracks, same with the gearbox. The gear box was designed for dirt, it gets up to speed very quickly and helps with braking. On a high grip (grass or astro) the belt drive prevents the car from rolling off throttle, it's almost like having drag brake but on dusty dirt it works really well. Years ago when I met Chris Alec he explained the thought behind the design.

One point, the diff plates needs some work on polishing to get them nice & smooth but once polished they are smooth as butter. The power clutch worked well, very adjustable.

Hope this helps.

:)

A&L steering

I agree with Jason, I never had any issues with the A&L steering. In the past used them on Ultimas, RC10s, JRX & Lazers without any problems. :)

Thanks for your iput DrPaul. I have been hearing much the same elsewhere on the A&L products but wanted to be sure before I go and spend a whole lot of money on a couple of chassis, gearboxes and other odds and ends. I have been using the steering set ups for a wile now and they have been working well for me.
Cheers- Jason
