Turnin off smilies in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
 

Anyone know how to turn off email smilies?

Everytime I type 'colon close brackets' to make a smilie it shows me a smilie face image, yet other people who I email can only see the image as a J

Gets confusing lol

Any ideas?

i think it's part of the autocorrect feature.

to remove it...

tools-options-spelling (use autocorrect when word isn't the email editor)

taking this off will also take off spelling corrections :eh?:

I think if you hit backspace after it autocorrects it reverts it back to the original before the autocorrect.
