Thunderpower-6.5 info needed.

I raced 4wd this weekend and had some troubles with the ESC (Tekin RS Pro) thermalling out and having a very hot motor.
Unfortunatly my temp-gun has been stolen so I did not measure the exact temperature.

Is this Thunderpowermotor (540 - 6.5) an motor that has to get or does get easely hot?
Also, I looked on the Thunderpower-site but could not find any info there (for their motors). Does anyone know what rpm's this motor gets? I lost the little brichure that came with the motor.

I'm trying to figure out what went wrong this weekend. As said I thermalled out suddenly during last twoo finals in the last minute but gearing seemed OK, and Tekin should have been able to run this engine without probs.

thx in advance.

Yes they get warm and can be hard to get the gearing and timing right.
What buggy are you running? You have the 410 right?

I think the tekin pro needs a fan and body holes also as tekin are coming out with a new esc (been in the making for 2 years I think) with a fan they also see the need for them.

What surface are you running on? High grip will need more from a esc and motor.

Indeed, running a dex410, or actually a 410DARC.
And again, indeed, on astro, high grip.

Maybe i should try to contact schumacher as I bought the motor from them. Maybe they can send me a digital copy of the little spec-sheet dat came with the engine.

I run a 7.5 Thunder Power in my K1 with some boost and turbo and it doesn't get that hot so I'm not sure that the motor is your problem. But I have heard a few people with problems with RS Pros having thermaling issues in 4wd mod, the few people that do still use them that I've seen seem to double up on the capacitors to help reduce temps, also ensure that your speedo is in Dual Drive as this can also help.
