Ultima ball diff?

Hi all,

As I am going brushless, should I treat the old girl to a ball diff? I'll only be racing it indoors.

Cheers all.

Hi Boons,
I do have one semi-complete Ultima transmission with ball diff if interested!

Send me a PM Sir!

I wouldn't bother, the Ultima ball diff is pretty naff. No diff washers and a friction drive between the steel diff plates and the output cups. If you want a stiffer action in the standard gear diff a thick grease will do the job.

I still wonder why I paid so much for a NIP one many years ago: it's still in its package today. As Terry said: the gear diff is much better and tougher.

When I got my ultima pro it had a balldif per standard. I never managed to get it to hold its setting. Allways came loose and would start slipping as crazy.
The conical fit of the pressure plates was fine: worked as good as the conical fit of the hexes.
