Other than Losi shocks....

What else do I need to get the S2 fully ready to hit the track?

Got all the electrics, got the B4 donor car, got Wes tickling my shell with his airbrush ()...but is there any other little bits ill end up needing?

I assume you asked for a Lipo S2?

c0sie 13-08-2008 08:27 AM

Indeed I did darlin'

LiPo's the future...dont you know!

Chris Doughty 13-08-2008 09:40 AM

have you ever thought about Aero shocks instead of Losi ones?

Body Paint 13-08-2008 09:56 AM

Thought about it... yes :p

Chris Doughty 13-08-2008 10:11 AM

I think they would be very good, just not had a chance to test with them.

you do need to change the seals to the NorTech whities, and maybe use Losi springs, but they seem like a very good shock

Lee 13-08-2008 10:19 AM

The aero shocks were very good, i think the updated version come with a slightly smaller spacer in between the seals, so there is no need to file it down or replace it. The body is about 0.5mm bigger inside diameter than the losi or ae shocks so you do have to use the aero pistons but i am sure you already knew this.

I do feel that the losi shocks stay cleaner for longer and less crap gets into them.

I dont know why because it is the same principle

There is another option for shocks, but i am still working on it. Around £45-£50 for a set but i think better than the Losi shocks ;)

Lee 13-08-2008 11:53 AM

Tell me more...............

And ive JUST this second bought my Losi shocks! lol!

OldTimer 13-08-2008 12:06 PM

Not even tested them yet, but they feel very good, and we would have to rework all the setups due to different piston options etc.

Currently the Losi shocks is the way to go, and we have plenty of data / setup info to get you going.

Is there a lipo tray available then? Or is it a new chassis?

Thanks

Traxas TRX3 shocks, Option House Gold??? ;)

DaveG28 13-08-2008 09:04 PM

I've still got my TRX3 shocks. That was by far the strongeest/easiest car I've ever run!

Believe the "Lipo" version is a Lipo tray, thats what I've ordered with my S2 as well. Fingers crossed its ready for the indoor season!

Just built my Losi shocks for it tonight too!

Body Paint 13-08-2008 09:27 PM

S2 has a lipo tray and straps/posts, chassis is unchanged.

I know what shocks JC is hiding LOL, I do agree they are awesome shocks.

tjf 13-08-2008 09:39 PM

Cool I'll be ordereing one of those then

I think I've got both, stuffed inside a dusty box in the attic :-) Both were ace.

OldTimer's secret shocks are just like AE shocks, only with 100 million times better build quality.... :wub
