Burning Brushed Motors
Hello electrical experts, help!:(
I burned two 27t brushed stock motors today after just 2 minutes of running: I am using them with nano-tech 5800mah lipos. I used the first one in my b4 and the arm started to melt at the windings, horrible smell. An similar motor was then used in my XXX and same thing happened but quicker. The B4 has an MRT MX speedo and XXX has an LRP QC3 speedo. Can any one guess whats going on? |
Motor burnout
Burning out at that rate suggests heavily overgeared. 27T stock motor should be pretty robust.
Also check the state of the commutator ( is it sparking ) - Discoloured or grooved com will soon heat up if worn. |
Ah geared at 34 pinion and 87 spur, both cars, it is big actually

Wow!:woot: Crazy big indeed. I'm not a stock specialist but I think you should be around 25t. Brushed motors can't handle such heavy loads.

Oh well, live and learn, thanks guys, I would say tell the world, but I think the world moved on a few years ago
