TLR 22 1 rear axle wrong drill hole

hello, i just bought this buggy to start again after a lot of years ...

the build up goes very well, exept for the rear axle . the hole in the axle where the pin goes tru that holds the hexagon in place for the wheel is drilled on the wrong distance... and this only with one axle. i have mesured the two and the difference is 1.7 mm . exact the size of the alu shim ring between the bearing and the pin. i will hopefully find a spare soon :( , so i can build up my chassis further.

is there anyone that had this same problem?

thanks,

Hans

Not heard of this one. I'd recommend contacting the shop where you got it from or your TLR distributor and they will most likely supply a replacement free of charge if the part supplied in the kit is obviously wrong.

Never heard of that one before.

As was recommended previously, contact the shop you purchased it from or Horizon Hobbies distributor (number in the back of your manual) for the proper part.

Make sure the bearing on the backside of the hub is pressed in all the way before you make any calls.

I had something similar happen many moons ago with a Losi, possibly a XXX BK2 or CR because they used different rear wishbones and hub widths. I can't recall exactly as it's probably ten years ago now.

My thought is does the 22 short course truck use a different width rear hub or wider hexes as standard so the holes in the axle are different?

Yes, but the axle widths are so different between the models I can't see that being the case.
And the SCT doesn't use a washer between the pin and the bearing.

and here i am again :) .

the bearings are in like they should. i have messured the difference with a decend in dutch ( schuifmaat) , so that should be correct.

when i put the 2 axles between euch other you will see the difference where the hole is drilled whit the beare eye .

becouse a new cup piece is only 8€ i will order a new one and in the meanwhile i have drillede the hole excentrical so it will fit for now. as soon as the new parts come in i will replace it instantly. when i get a chance i will take a picture of it, so you see what i mean.

grts Hans
