Are u new to eBay as I know they can hold money if ur new selling til u get good feedback from the sale

If you've sold on ebay before and never had to do this I'd message the buyer and tell him whats happening and there's no way your sending the stuff without payment. How much feedback has he got, is it a high value item.

When some sellers receive payments, we may hold the money in their pending balance for up to 21 days. We want to make sure that there are no problems with the orders, such as disputes, claims, returns, or chargebacks. After we determine that the order was fulfilled and the customer is satisfied, we may release the money earlier.
If we place your money in a pending balance, it belongs to you but isn't immediately available to spend or withdraw.

We'll let you know if payments on your account are held. We'll also let you know what steps you can take to have your money released earlier. If your PayPal account was already limited, you'll need to lift those limits before you complete the steps to release your payments.

Has the buyer started a dispute against you? If they have then PayPal automatically puts a hold on the money.

So in other words if paypal do that to say 1 million people a day X 365 days then the interest they get on yours and the other millions of sellers will give them an extra few £millions per year.
Recorded delivery is a must in this case just to stop buyer denying delivery and getting his cash back.

Its a security measure by ebay/paypal on electronic items. The buyer has actually paid, its paypal who hold onto the money in case of a dispute. Stops you from spending it. Usually clears shorlty after you recieve good feedback. Im sure its lifted once you have some detailed seller ratings too.

xfactor 27-05-2013 10:21 AM

Thats rite Danny, you have to have 10 star seller rating thats the stars you collect when you have sold in the box when you click on feedback number. If not it used to be when you had a 10 feedback score as this gains you your first yellow star,i think its been raised now to 50 star the blue star.

After this you will get moneys straight away, its just a insurance measure through ebay/paypal like Danny stated, its nothing to worry about.

Also when the buyer leaves you positive feedback you get money straight away 24hrs max.

Hope this helps.
