Sunday Night racing ????????????????????

When does Saturday night racing start?

I'm itching to dust off my Tamiya mini and I reckon the 15 or so Broxtowe mini racers will be too! as long as the track flows nicely like at Broxtowe indoors. i.e. not hairpin after hairpin and with nice sweeping bends.

If and when it starts maybe you should be in charge of laying out the track then??

My post was not intended as a criticism of the track layout at Mansfield John, I apologise if it came across that way. It's good for off road and always has been.

If you've ever raced a Tamiya mini before you would know hairpin after hairpin is no fun, just loads of wheelspin, and that's why the layout at Broxtowe in the winter works so well for them. Highly technical layouts just don't work for minis.

As for being in charge of track layout, I would prefer input from everyone, taking all the different classes into account. Otherwise whoever is in charge of track layout would understandably cater for their chosen class.

I thought my M05 was benched until the indoor season at Broxtowe .. if the track is onroad friendly I may frequent ....

Scott.

What I have heard is that there will be minimum ramps for off road so it's easier to change the track for tourers & minis etc just like Broxtowe, as far as track layout mr Musgrove is very considerate when it comes to track layouts and I am sure he will do a tack to suit all and I am sure will take suggestions from people who help build the track

I’m always up for suggestions as it is a democracy not a dictatorship

.

Track lay out is difficult at the moment as the area is a lot bigger and if your not inventive with the track we will run out of track markers. The club may have to buy some more in the future.

Anyone who helps can have there say, I won’t be there every Sunday so someone else will have to take over.

charlesk 21-05-2013 10:47 AM

Any ideas of when the first session is going to be(assuming it's going to happen)?

Instead of shelling out for extra track marking things why not take a jigsaw to some of the existing ones. Present Track Guide is box shaped cut them in half double the quantity £0 pounds to do it.
