The Yellow Jacket

On the Tour De France bicycle race, each day the person who is leading the race at that point gets to wear the yellow jacket for the day. It's quite an honor.

Has anyone noticed Ellis' yellow wing? At the conclusion of Southport A - 2, Stafford realized he had the Championship, regardless of the outcome of A - 3, so he put on the yellow wing, symbolic of the leader, and you see it in pix of A - 3 and following the race.

I think it's a major idea, that it should carry forward. Whoever is leading in the Championship should wear a yellow wing. Last year's Champ starts out with it at the first race, then it changes from there.

Kind of an unofficial, fun thing.

Any comments?

ace idea chazz,like it

one thing I thought up,

each A finalist gets a window sticker or symbol, then you can aim to rack up as many as possible during the season.

I never had the time or funds to make up a sticker sheet.

it would be an ace photo thing too, you could have someone like Cragg, Pidge or Ellis rocking a full 6 set at the end of the year.

and a new boy A finalist would frame the body with the A-main sticker on it!

I heard it said that the yellow wing for was better visibility. The shadows late in the day on the back section at Southport make a darker car tricky to see.

Nice idea though.

Do I sound like I know what I'm on about - if I do, I don't.

Mrs oOple 04-08-2008 09:29 PM

Stu, you never sound as though you know what you are on about. Apart from that one time at Kidderminster when the chavs came after you.

bigred5765 04-08-2008 09:35 PM

was it a scream or a war cry stu let out ?

Stu 04-08-2008 09:36 PM

I bored them into total submission.

MK999 04-08-2008 11:13 PM

Confusing chavs is the best, I once managed to make one feck off by saying him calling me gay was rather ironic... it was met with "eh, whut?" :p
