Speedpassion bullet connectors.

Anyone had any luck sourcing alternative / cheap speedo connector tubes (the ones that go to the motor)- the speedpassion ones are far too expensive for 3 tubes !!

Ive tried some I though looked about right from eBay - but they are a little too big so are a sloppy fit onto the motors.

Not sure what you mean by "too expensive."
Literally all the motor manufacturers, including novak and others, offer some kind of combo set of bullet connector sets (male and female). Some are a little more pricey than others.

Hobbyking have the (I think) 3mm or 3.5mm tubes like 10 for £2 or something

These

If you really dont want to spend the £8. You could remove the connectors and hardwire then put some generic 4mm connectors on the wires. I like the SP connection system because it's neat but they do rather try to take advantage on the connector prices!

I've tried some 3.5mm connectors from ebay - but they are a 'very sloppy' fit ? They literally just fall back out :(

£8 for 3 connectors is a rip off - especially when you have a few cars, as I do and ideally i'd like at least 6 sets so I can run my SP motors in any vehicle. Seems crazy when you can pick up a full set of 10 plugs and tubes for a couple of pounds and they want £8 for just 3 tubes !

I like to think i'm not 'tight' but I also don't like to be ripped off :)

Speed passion motors have sold at various oOple advertising shops for just over £30 recently (you get a set of tubes with a motor), so why on earth they want £8 just for the tubes is madness....

3.5mm connectors are fine, the bit that goes loose is the spring part of the connector on the male side in the motor. If you get the 3.5mm pairs you have, then carefully pick the spring part of the connector off of the new male connector, then remove the back plate of your motor and swap them all out, you'll be good to go. It's the springs which are going weak..

Hi Dazzler - yep - i've done that trick before.

I did though measure the Speedpassion plugs internal diameter and it's 3.4 (ish) whereas the third party plugs I bought have an internal diameter of 3.6 ! They were sold as 3.5mm plugs, but I guess they are a sniff bigger to accommodate the spring plug....
