PS3 - Transfer saved games
 

Son's PS3 has to go back for warranty issue.

How do I, if I can, transfer saved game data, contacts etc?

not sure how to but i know you can do it as i have seen save game files for sale on ebay. i guess you just find the file and copy to a memory stick!

insert a memory card or USB memory stick or other USB storage device, then look at the top of the Games column for the Game Data Utility and Save Data Utility - Game Data is stuff like patches and updates, Save Data is your game saves. Click Triangle over anything you want to keep and select Copy to copy to your memory stick / whatever, and when your new PS3 arrives plug in the memory card / stick / hard disk etc and go back to Save Data Utility / Game Data Utility and copy back your saves and patches back to the new hard disk
