Shocks have to be bought in parts I am afraid Bill and are quite expensive, or try and find some second hand ones and rebuild.

As far as I know nearly everyone is using the Losi shocks on theirs.

cheers mate, i had assumed that there would be a thread already about this lol, just couldn't find the damn thing

setup has changed a little since then Bill, we now almost always use the #56 pitston in the front and rear piston will be either #55 or #56, this will be your choice really on which rear end setup you like most.

Ah bollocks! I forgot to check that... :D

How much of a biggie is it to use XX4 rear shocks & pistons? More droop that's all?

Don't do it. XX4 shocks are way too long. Uptravel is reduced as well!

Body Paint 30-07-2008 08:23 AM

As Elvo says, don't do it. It would handle really badly.

You would be better off with associated shocks than XX4. You need to get the

LOSA5055 Threaded Shock Body Set .9" x1
and
LOSA5064 Shock Shaft,1.0" Ti-Nitride x2

tony12795 30-07-2008 08:36 AM

Use the XXXCR one's

Chris Doughty 30-07-2008 08:46 AM

the xx4 bodies are too long though, they will seriously limit the up-travel...

SHY 30-07-2008 08:53 AM

I will, I promise! :D

Are AE rear shock bodies/pistons different length as to 2- and 4WD as well?

No they're the same.

Body Paint 30-07-2008 11:18 AM

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but, B4 rear shocks are the same as B44 rear shocks.

B4/B44 rear shocks are only a little shorter than the xxxcr rear shock. (LOSA5055 Threaded Shock Body Set .9" , LOSA5064 Shock Shaft,1.0" Ti-Nitride)

evilbert 30-07-2008 01:05 PM

so let me get this straight, what i need is....

LOSA5055 Threaded Shock Body Set .9" x1
LOSA5054 Threaded Shock Body Set .6" x1

LOSA5064 Shock Shaft,1.0" Ti-Nitride x2
LOSA5060 Shock Shaft,.6" Ti-Nitride x2
LOSA5015 Double O-Ring Shock Cartridge x4
LOSA5079 Shock Ends & Cups (4) x1
LOSA5045 Shock Pistons #56, (4) x1
LOSA5047 Shock Pistons #55, (4) x1
LOSA2006 Swivel Balls .250 x1
LOSA5013 Shock Mount Bushings:All XXX x1

if it isn't can someone list exactly everything that i will need to get for a complete set of shocks....

cheers guys

Body Paint 30-07-2008 06:10 PM

Springs :p

evilbert 30-07-2008 06:22 PM

damn it :p

i take it your advice about springs in the other thread is still up to date?

paul01ews 31-07-2008 12:16 AM

Also you want 2x each size of shock body ie; 2x.6 & 2x.9 four in all.
Paul.
Sorry did not see the word SET, it is late

evilbert 31-07-2008 12:48 AM

Correct, 1 pack = 2 threaded shock bodies and 2 threaded collars

Springs: front black, blue, green. rear: red, pink
