Aluminium side sections?
 

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any company or person making the front side sections that come in parts bag TD320124 (picture attached)? :confused:

I have have stripped the threading on a couple of them already, through some front end hits, and thought that maybe some aluminium ones would be more durable. :) (plus would be cool anodised in black ;))

It wouldn't be so bad if you could get them on their own, but I don't need to replace the other parts in the pack so collecting them is an unwanted pain for both space and expense :thumbdown:

If anyone knows of some already please could you let me know, or if anyone would be willing to make some, please could they let me know :thumbsup:

I'm guessing you mean the ones middle right and left of the image?
Just get slightly longer M3 countersink screws(15mm over all length) and put a slim nut on the back of them.

I think the servo would be in the way. I asked the guy who makes the chassis I'm working on and it would be a very expensive piece to make. I think maybe drilling the inside bigger to recess a nut would be the best alternative

Club mates and myself have done both and it works fine with the LP nut.

Preferably recessed do the hole with a big drill bit so you can get pliers in or remove and use the hex driver

Could always do what I did with mine. Drill and tap the m3 hole to m6, Drill and tap a piece of M6 studding m3. Screw it into the plastic like an oversized helicoil. It's complete overkill but it works.
