XX4 + brushless = ?????

Hi im getting a A losi xx-4 for christmas:santa: off mum and dad but i have to get all my other stuf such as electrics myself and was thinking of possibly brushless as it can work out just as cheap as brushed, also it will mean less maintenance. And the main desiding feature is if it is allowed next year for nationals and regionals. But i have some questions??

1. Will it be easy to fit in a xx4?

2. Anybody who has run one in a XX4 what are thy like?

3. What make would you recomend i know the lrp and nosram systems are the same but what about the novak system against the lrp and nosram system?

4. And which motor because there are diffrent speed's like the 3.5 and 4.5 etc?

A:confused:

can't help you with the XX4 questions, but I'm sure the subject of fitting a BL in the XX4 has been duscussed in the Losi section of this forum. take a look there.

I'm running an LRP/Nosram system in my ZX5 and have a 4* (5.5) and 3* (6.5) motor. I would recommend the 3* motor for most tracks. The 4* can be a little too hot sometimes. All in all, I'm very happy with the LRP/Nosram system. I would wait a while though as they are coming with an evolution version of their motors with a larger size front bearing.

its is possible to fit a brushless to the XX4 without too much trouble

it seems the LRP 3* and SPHERE competition (with cooling fan) are the way to go. Some team drivers are using the 4* but for most tracks it would be too hot.

1 - Yes it's very easy to fit it. And has enough room the motor end, but the speed controller is abit hard, i usually run mine at the top bit next to the batterys

2 - They're fine. I can do a good 10mins on a full charged battery

3 - LRP

4 - I got a 3*, there good and easy to drive :)

The brushless is (in my opinion) Like a brushed motor, There's some places like in tight corners where its just got that extra free roll which you dont want.

the 3* is equivilent to a 9turn i think i was told, not sure though.

I can't vouch for Nosram, since I never owned one, but helger seem to have a decent support for the LRP stuff - Both times I've sent stuff in, they have been very quick to sort stuff out.

Don't know :P the last nosram i tried was about 2yrs ago, was good in a SST for rallying, But i thought it was poor for the 2wd, that's why i went back to brushed motors :)

exactly what I was hoping for. I am tired of going to the track and having cut comm every time I turn around. We go brushless.
