B44.2 Big Bore Setups
Had a go of my new 4WD on weekend and thought it was quite poor.
Been speaking to a few people who seem to be having the same probs - ie big bore shocks and handling. Has anyone had any break through with the big bore shocks. I know some are trying ghea tapered, losi, kyosho, yokomo! But haven't seen anyone's car who really is happy with them What is everyone trying?? Any setups that work on high grip astro?? |
Yup, V2 shocks ;)
|
Have a look on petite site for b44.2
First time out with mine on Sunday and lap times up there with the best of them! More work needed though I will admit but you have to go much softer than using the v2 shocks :D |
Anyone any further on with the set up for these?
Everyone still running 1.7 all round? I ran fr 35, 1.7 red - rr 27.5, 1.7 green on grass which turned to dust sunday Went well but does seem alot softer than anyother car out there. |
My shock setup from kidderminster was:
1.7's all round, 0.030" limiter all round. 35wt associated in the front white spring 27.5wt associated in the rear. black spring Stotfold shock setup 1.7's all round, 0.030" limiter all round. 37.5wt associated in the front yellow spring 30wt associated in the rear black spring Ben |
Cheers buddy i am along right lines, its jus so soft to everyone else but saying that mine felt fab to drive
|
Quote:
32.5-37.5 depending on track conditions 27.5-30.0 in rear Black springs normally on rear always Front springs nothing softer than white/grey and as stiff as yellow/red on front if high grip and dry |
My experience with bigbore shocks over last 3 years roughly, is that it's not so much about changing tyres or springrate but instead getting on board with the basic concept of bigbores using lighter oil weights in comparison to their smaller diameter brethren - somewhere between 2.5 and 5.0 weights.
Once you get settled with how these larger shocks react, that's when you can start getting into other pistons and things. |
Cheers guys, good to b reassured your along right lines
