Houston, Texas

Does anyone know what it is like to live out in Houston

My current project is coming to a close (just as well, im bored off my tits) and i can have a job in Houston if i want. But what is it like, i imagine Texas as being like the wild west  but i imagine things have moved on a bit now.

If anyone knows then please feel free to share your views

Have you seen Dallas? Its nothing like that.

Have you seen the Hill-billies? I don't think it is anything like that either.

Im hoping it is like Dukes of Hazard cos that is cool. But really I doubt it.

Ive had a job emailed to me too in Houston, Texas. Might even apply for it. LOL.

Everything's bigger in Texas :D

Its not bad over there, my cousin (whos canadian) lived in Houston, North Carolina (slightly hic-ville, ex-dry state!!!), South Dakota, and has now moved back to Dallas saying Texas is the best place she's ever lived and she should never of moved.

Property is pretty cheap out there, they bought a huge detached house with a pool for what we paid for our small semi :(

Lee,

Friend of mine currently lives and works for an IT company in Dallas, another has just returned from several years in Houston working for an oil company. Both rate the quality of life over and above the UK. Any specific info you're after, I can always drop them a line?

I know nothing about Houston.
Except:

There are more obese people per head of population in Houston than anywhere else in the world

I`m pretty tempted to give it a shot to be honest, you can get a 4 bed house for about $140k

I never lived there but I've been there quite a few times, It's pretty nice but San Antonio is much better. Don't buy a house over here, the market is over-saturated with sh***y houses that have been foreclosed on. I'm in Illinois by the way!

Lee 12-08-2008 08:54 AM

Cheers mate.

Why are you up so early, have you sh!t the bed :eh?:

Snakesonaplayne6 12-08-2008 09:02 AM

Eh? Nah, It's only 'bout 4 or so. I should say the same for you, It's 8:30 or so your time. besides I don't sleep at "night".

Lee 12-08-2008 09:03 AM

Snakesonaplayne6 12-08-2008 09:08 AM
