Modern Art (Banksy)

And you thought RC racing was expensive....

I have developed a bit of an expensive habit of late..

My collection now stands at 3 Banksy's, an Anthony Micallef and a few other fine British artists. Still awaiting my latest purchase of a Faile print.

If I'm not carefull I'll run out of wall space and money..

Anyone else share my addiction?

Some of the Banksy work is really quite hard hitting.

I have some artwork in the house but i had it done to match the colours of the house when i bought it, i suppose you could say they were one offs.

I have signed books from a photographer i used to work for called Tom Wood and some nice postcards by Steve Diet Goedde .

I keep seeing prints i'd like by various 'togs but the house is still being decorated so dont really want to buy them yet as they'll get wrecked :( missus says i have enough stuff of my own we can use anyway lol :p

my issue with banksy is that the portraits of art he dose using stencilling show little talent for the Tags he puts on walls and that it is a quick and easy form of graffiti- I do like his satire style and his anti views but its just a copy of blek le rat and I find it adds to his laziness of work.

He is right though. If you look at the body of work there is so much Blec and Warhol influence it isn't even funny as it carries with it an English witt.
