What servo??

So what steering servo are you guys using??

I'm looking for something for my dads mini as he seems to destroy anything that goes in there currently!! So i cant have anything digital as running a Core RC setup and believe these dont like digital servos??? And must be metal geared, fed up of replacing them!!!

Suggestions please

Servo replacement

Hi Dale, Would recommend a Savox 1251MG. Bit power hungry but perfect for a mini stock - Powerful, robust, low profile so more room for other gear and have been running one in mine for years !

Cannot say strongly enough that you WILL need to plug a power cap ( I run 4700uf 16v ) in the receiver as the caps in the receiver are very weedy - mine will not run without one.

Running aforementioned servo with G28 speedo and Spektrum receiver.

I'd recommend the same, again with a power cap.

1/12th racers will turn their noses up at them. But they're fast, strong, low-profile and not too expensive. And if you get bored of GT12 you can run it in a touring car or buggy (I run a 1251 in every class I race, and never had one go wrong).

Will it work with the Core RC receiver though? I've heard they dont like digital servos???

Hi,

I'm running the following Alturn Digital Servo with my Core RC Radio gear. I've had no problems:

I'm a 12th racer. For that application a Futaba 9602 is the mutz nuts. Analogue, metal gears, bullet proof, no problems with high current draw or glitching. Yes, they cost more - you get what you pay for and moreover with a Futaba you'll get back more because they are sought-after second hand. Mine is still going strong and still worth £35 of anyone's money. That means it's cost me £5 for 10 year's use - bargain! HTH :)
