Got 4wd now what 2wd

Own the 44.2 and K1 and just wanted to complement them with. 2 wd, anybody recommend any.

I like the following

Associated 4.2
Schumacher svr
Inferno rb6
Durango 210
Yokomo

I had a few questions ,

Why is that inferno so expensive, ?
Would spares for the 44.2 work with the 4.2 ?

Thanks.

I see a few 4.1 on eBay maybe one of them but unsure yet

Tobamory the cars you have listed are all great cars and have proved themselves at all levels. 99% of people are running mid motored cars now ! What are people running at the club you race at ?
Why not go for a car that can be converted with kit parts  like the Durango dx210, Yokomo bmax2, Kyosho RB6 (yes it is expensive, but quality)
Nothing wrong with the other cars you have listed either but its up to yourself.
I'm guessing here but you being in Leeds you are close to the respected MB models in Otley speak to them for more advise.
Hth Steve

I'd say either the dex210 or yokomo.

Alternatively pick up a cheap B4.1 2nd hand and convert it to a vega 2nd gen. then you would be able to share certain parts with the 44.2 and still have a very good mid motor buggy

Otley Modelsport's in Otley and they'd never heard of half of the makes that are current when I went when I started back the other year.

Hi Rob.... The Associated cars are as good as anything and have the proven pedigree.. Depends on what you want to spend but go for the B4.1 for cheap..the B4.2 for latest with all the upgrades or consider the C4.1 for mid motor (I think Paul from the Batley club is selling his C4.1on here ) some of the parts are the same as your B44.....

Tobamory 24-03-2013 07:18 PM

Got my eye on one on eBay,

I,ll see what I can obtain, is yours a 4.1 Al?
Suppose 4.2 would have parts I could use on 44.2 in a fashion.

K thanks

The one I'm looking at is an rc10 b4 what years that or is that the same as a 4.1?

Aire valley 24-03-2013 07:42 PM

Mine has been upgraded from B4 with all sorts...
What ever you look at, make sure it has threaded shocks and cvd driveshafts at least, better if it is full Factory Team version...

Tobamory 24-03-2013 07:46 PM

Factory team b4 is advert, but its pro gonna go for over 100 which I won't pay,

Might just sell some stuff on eBay and get yokomo or 4.2

What do u all run in them I'm presuming higher turns?

StevenBest 24-03-2013 10:03 PM

TeamC TM2

Shows great pace on low and high grip surfaces. It's cornering speed is great and is preety cheap to run.

Seen a few svr on eBay, think its gonna be Schumacher or associated

Quite expensive , what motor n pinion do people run?

Aire valley 25-03-2013 10:58 PM

A B4 Factory Team went for £82 on eBay yesterday !
Motors.... 7.5 / 8.5T outdoors.....10.5T indoors.
Pinions, as always, depends on motor and spur gear..

Tobamory 26-03-2013 10:39 AM

yeah i was watching that 1 Alan, was undecided on model so didn't dare take the plunge.

Guy of this forum selling a roller 4.2 but he wants 220 for it from Belgium, which is a lot .

keep looking at this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1210850253...84.m1423.l2648

I can get a 4.1 for 209 RTR, but was unsure what the RTR parts were like on them, maybe poor.

will i kick myself for not getting a 4.2 bahhh,

Aire valley 26-03-2013 11:03 AM

The 4.1 RTR is ok, good value as it comes with Reedy esc and 13.5t motor which is quite good especially indoors.... Downside is shocks, turnbuckles, servo etc but can be upgraded over time....if it is for your wife / son then itis a good starter.
Bought my grandsons RTR ,s then upgraded to factory team as and when parts and money became available..!
A better option is still a good second hand factory team at the right price..
As always it depends on disposable income !!

Tobamory 26-03-2013 11:37 AM

all my incomes hers, it just if i spend it quick im ok :)

ive shoved an advert on the forums i,ll see who PMs me.

Tobamory 27-03-2013 09:10 AM

im down to the SVR or B4 Factory

If racing in the UK, then the mid-motor is the most popular choice (in fact, nearly everyone has a mid-motor by the looks of it). So the SVR would be the pick I suppose.

Richard Lowe 27-03-2013 10:15 AM

The SVR is rear motor also though!

Whan you're just starting (or starting back up) a B4 of some description is the obvious choice, the 4.2's are expensive but otherwise they're good value especially second hand older spec cars. Add to that really good parts availability in general and it makes the most sense.

Once you're confident with 2wd and want to go faster with a B4 you then have a choice of mid-motor conversions, X6, Centro, Vega - though obviously the upcoming X6 Cubed is what you want :p

Tobamory 27-03-2013 01:14 PM

might just wait then for that :)

Tobamory 28-03-2013 03:33 PM

Got a 2nd hand B4, should keep me going till that Cube comes out, then I,ll probably look at that or a BMAX.

gives me something to upgrade and tinker with

Now have a Bmax2. that's me done
First race tonight see what I smash :)
