New version of the Hotshot a beginner car?

Has anybody of you the re-released Hotshot and could comment on its reliability and toughness, i.e. is it suitable for beginners?

Edit: Feel free to close this thread, cheaper and better options available hereabouts...

Speaking as the owner/builder of a re-re Hotshot and having tried to drive it in a couple of races for vintage cars, I have to say that no it is not really in any way suitable for serious racing. Way way too loose on the suspension side, far to easy to grip-roll, and soooo slow unless you run a decent motor, which then makes the poor suspension control and grip roll show up even more. Also, quite fragile and desperately inefficient (way too much drivetrain drag). So, I'd definately look elsewhere for a racer - even for a beginner it is too slow to learn anything useful. Try a B4 RTR for a good starter car.

Having said all that, I do love my 'Shot but only as a healthy dose of nostalgia and to serve as a reminder of how far cars have developed in the last 24 years.
