Nitro or Electric

Hi, now I don't if this has been covered but I'm torn between nitro and electric so what's better for a beginer and price wise what will be cheaper in the long run? Any info would be great and will mean I can stop pulling my hair out with the options. Oh and the drifting looks like fun but no-where near me does it

What do your local tracks run?

2wd/4wd want scale!!!

Smith391 16-03-2013 05:56 PM

That's the problem I'm in Northampton so there are clubs that run 1/8 nitro and another that runs 1/10 and 1/12 electric so thats why I cant decide, Im trying to work out the pro's and con's for both types

My advice to you is go along and have a talk to rc racers they can give you more info the cost etc !!!

if you are a beginner then go electric with something like a 2wd buggy, you will have far less reliability issues and get more track time without frustration than you will with nitro, plus you will learn to maintain and repair the car before buying a nitro that needs constant attention. get something like the b4 rtr and you cant go too far wrong

So the b4 rtr for a buggy, what about a rtr touring car what should I look for on that front as I want to try and cover all areas :)

Dodgy said it all, be ready for messing about with nitro, I've been there and sacked it

Electrics easier, more clubs do it as far as I can see.
But go to your locals and get a feel for it, then decide.
