2nd hand Lazer issues

Just got a lazer off this forum, all seemed ok until I got the electrics in and ran it up. It sounds like a bag of nails, literally! It looks like the main issue is the spur gear. It moves/tilts front to back and has movement up to. It could probably do with shimming out but I don't have any of that size. It does sound free running with no motor on but running it with reminds me of a nitro car. Any thought, is this amount of play in the sour gear normal? It's a lazer zx5 fs2 not sp but has sp front end and the law 44 carbon top deck.

Thanks

You need to install grub acrews in the spare holes that hold the spur gear in. Tighten gently down to remove the play, but not too much otherwise you'll crack a bearing like I did when I was rushing at a track!

Dont suppose you have a pic of where these grub screws are have you? Or is it obvious when you look at it? Also will it be the same on the FS2 as it will the SP version?

It's the middle holes.

The plastic top piece that goes between the two carbon decks holding the spur gear in.

Any version that has the optional carbon top deck.

Pics, no not to hand.
