Points

Hi lads, not that I'm anal or anything....ok I am a bit.... But there's a mistake on the points table for yesterday's round of the championship.

I qualified B1 and got 90 points which is correct, then won B final but only got 89 points, but further down the list Ben farenden received 90 something points??
Can't remember him being in the A lol.

Thanks, John jones

Tyres

Whats this I'm hearing about illegal tyres, Dave. Surely the points will be altered due to this if its true?

Am I looking at the same points table? on the website under results? Seems to be wrong - all the qualifying points for round 3 are the same as the finals points - In my case that definately is wrong as I poled then bombed out of my final.

john333 18-02-2013 10:09 AM

Yeah that can't be right lol, didn't notice as my 2 results should be the same.

Maybe that will put me back in front of smithy lol

Thanks to the club members who put the hard work into running the meeting for the rest of us. It`s a thankless task and not one i would wish to do myself in truth. Great venue, great surface. I wish i lived closer but its two hours or so for me each way :(

Please take the following constructive critisism as it is intended - to make future meetings run a little more smoothly. It`s not a personal gripe in any way as i had no problems myself nor do i wish to patronise anyone. Things were perhaps made a little more difficult than was necessary thats all ......

Seeding. Seems a bit random. Again, for me peronally, no problem at all, but i noted Wes was in the second from bottom heat when he had made two previous A finals ?? Surely its best to just seed people in championship position. It works best this way at Worksop.

Numbers for the cars. They help everyone to keep track of where they are in the race, you know who you are lapping and who is lapping you. Takes the guess work out of knowing when to set off too.

The computer. There is something wrong with either the hardware or the software. I am not qualified to say which, but i am qualified to say that its not as it ought to be.
I felt a little sorry for Dave trying to count the cars off the line. The pips came at random, 1..2..345..6.....7..8.9. A couple of heats i noted that the pips had finished yet there were four cars still waiting on the line. They ended up setting off at once resulting in a pile up on the first corner.
I know you guys use it weekly and it works just fine for club racing, but for the regional it's less than ideal.

The pa. The speaker in the pit room didnt work, i know Matt was calling for volunteer marshalls but none of us knew because it was off from the beginning.

Control tyres. Perhaps best to mention this one in the briefing, anyone not on the right tyre should not have been able to score points. I know the guy in question, hes sound and honest. I dont think he genuinley knew that there was a control tyre.

Marshalling. Some of us arent as fast on our feet as others. My personal opinion is if you dont feel you`re able to marshal at a reasonable pace then you should ask one of your buddies to stand in for you. A little unfair to be screaming at a marshall if your car is on its roof when you have taken half a lap to put a car back on its wheels yourself. Anyone not marshalling should get a warning then lose their quickest time. Large numbers on the marshal points lets people know where they should be. I overheard that the caretaker binned those ?

Reading this back, it looks a bit like a huge moan. It`s not. I just think its best to give honest feedback to help you improve future meetings for the enjoyment of everyone.

Peace :)

Nah ric i think all fair points and can easily be rectified

For me i really suffered from being in a low heat, wasnt just me that said it, im too chilled to moan

Again i suffered from that manic start, but again i jusput up with it but wud rather it dint happen

Im sure it will all be sorted as its a great track!!

I did notice additive being used aswell well looked like it maybe worth lookin in to

Russ

We can't be talking about the same chap!! :woot:;)

Seriously, please don't shoot Rich down as he would've meant what he said especially the bit about what a great club this is with awesome tracks!!

Years ago I would've said (as Rich did), don't comment until you've tried it, however constructive criticism in this way is just what clubs need. I ask for it every week, literally. It's the only way clubs can improve and move on. I will say I only saw 3-4 people actually active in running this meeting so that's quiet impressive!

Keep up the good work

Thank you to all involved for the hard work to organise the meeting, but at the same time can't dispute any of Rich's points.

wes j. 18-02-2013 09:22 PM

No Worries Rich we will take these comments on board for future meetings. I would personally like to thank Matt Owen for his help throughout the series with his advice and commentating it's really appreciated bud. Hopefully see you all at the last round.
