Which glue for this repair?

This isn't strictly an rc question but you never know the power of oOple (mods feel free to transplant this if you want)

I have an old Transformer with a broken antenna. I plan to fix him with some brass tubing. My question is what type of glue do I use: thick CA, Gorilla super-glue, epoxy etc? I suppose a little flex might be good so it doesn't just snap off again. There's a little space inside the brass collar so the glue needs to fill that for a really good bond. Curing time not a problem at all. Someone said epoxy is what I need. Any particular brand you recommend?

p.s. I actually used the brass tubing to repair my Procat wishbone...

i would drill a hole through the center of it so it cant be seen, and use a small piece of plastic rod then weld it together with some plasti weld or something similar from a plumbers shop

Or even use an old drive pin instead of a plastic rod

cut the other three off and add the brass bling so they match

Hi mate, I d bon't think you'll need to tube at all tbh. If you get a pin vice and small bit (say .8mm), drill a hole into the end of the broken parts then epoxy in a length of piano wire to pin the two parts together you;ll be amazed how strong it is.

Been building Wargames minatures that way for ages, gives a really strong, robust and near invisible join.

Or just drill into both bits and screw in a thin threaded bar ( say 1.5mm) like used for model plane controls
Then screw the arieal back on

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

I used the brass tube, some Unibond epoxy and finished off with some Tamiya acrylic Flat Black. I didn't do the drilling thing, but hopefully this will be OK just for display.

An idea might have been to roll some epoxy putty around the brass tube and let it go off, then mount the tube in a drill and you could shape it exactly as the original ?

I had sort of the same problem extending a Hen Long Tiger Tank barrel, worked a treat and the barrel still fires like its supposed to.
