Ride height
 

Quite embarrassed asking stupid questions like this but it's the only way I'm going to learn.

Been looking at various setup sheets and noticed that a very common ride height is 21mm at front and 20mm at the rear.

Here is my problem. I currently have a b44.1 with ae silvers on the rear and kyosho silvers on the front.

With the rear shock collars wound to the top the ride height is sitting at about 26-28mm, how can I lower this? Are the figures on setup sheets done with setup wheels on as I am taking my measurement with mini pins on.

Thanks for any help, steep learning curve for me buggies and there will be many more daft questions to come.

Just stuck the is car back on black kyosho rears and i can get the 20mm ride height no problem.

One of my mates who races has told me that you have to cut the springs if you want a lower ride height.

So as per cml setup sheets for cavalieri when he runs ae silvers front and ae greens rear, does that means he would have to cut the rear springs? If so, why doesn't the kit come with springs that actually give a decent ride height?!

You can get different spring cups for the bottom of the shocks, ones with a higher platform for the spring and others with a lower platform.
My guess is you have the higher ones fitted!
Worth a look...

And have you checked the overall length of the shocks ? Are the eyelets screwed all the way on to the shafts ? Does Cav use any limiters ? Are the kyosho and AE springs the same length off the car ?

I'd be very surprised if Cavileri is cutting his AE springs but may be wrong.

Figured out the problem that was so blatantly obvious, i couldn't see it.

I presumed as i bought the car 2nd hand, that the shock cups that were on it were correct, however it turns out my car has the offset front shocks cups on the front and rear.

I only discovered this after looking at the shock build in the manual and realising mine were different. Ordered a set of rear shock cups and the car sits perfect now.
