BIG BORE SHOCKS

DOE'S ANYBODY KNOW IF YOU BUY A BRAND NEW X11 DOE'S IT COME WITH BIG BORE SHOCKS
CHEERS

niggs98 02-07-2008 12:31 PM

unfortunatly the X11 doesnt come with the big bore shocks as at the moment they are an option, but they are readily available and are cheaper than most shocks on the market if you go by uk prices and worth the extra few quid that they cost

the big bore shocks are defo worth purchasing :) they are quality

Belsten 02-07-2008 04:40 PM

I agree, they are a very worthwhile value for money upgrade

i have been informed by a team driver that i should only put the new big bore shocks on the rear? what are your thoughts on this?

Mrs.TeamXtreme 17-08-2008 08:51 PM

From extensive testing and R & D, we have found that the X11 improves overall with a full set of the Big Bore Shocks.

However if you did only have 1 set, they would be better on the rear.

I hope this helps.

yes if you are thinking about getting the big bores get a full set.. it is worth it. they are alot bigger than kit ones and plus it would look wierd with only one pair of them..haha you will notice the difference when a full set is used. :D

niggs98 18-08-2008 08:53 AM

99% of the team run the big bores all round. and if they are such a big improvment then why only run them on the rear, surely they would be better all round, i know that i personally run them all round and havent taken them off since i first tried them, lewis (mr xtreme) adam myself and others have put in so much timed testing and time on the new shocks to get base setups that you would be suprised, hence knowing that they are an improvment all round. buy a full set with confidence knowing that they will be good and knowing that you have a full team to help you with proven setups and to help you to tune the shocks and the car to your own needs

Big Bore Shocks

Can anyone help. I've got an X10 and I think it would really benefit from these shocks but I cant find them anywhere. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction. I've tried Team Xtreme but they don't come up on their web site

footey 03-10-2008 03:19 PM

give them a ring direct m8 and speak to lewis he will help u out ;)

djsaf 03-10-2008 03:27 PM

Cheers for that will do. What other mods would you recomend that would help generally. Would you suggest the same oil all round in them too??

Cheers

niggs98 03-10-2008 03:31 PM

setup are on the set up section on here. my epr set up is a good starting point. other recomended mods are the xbrace for the front end as it strenthens up all the rocker area and greatly improves the strenth of the x10 in the event of a heavey front end accident.

if you have any questions at all feel free to either ask on here or pm me

xbrace?
Could you please explain what you mean by this, Nathan?
I have an X10 too and would like to strenghten her the maximum.

I didn't realise he meant the X11-parts, used as an update on the x10.

most interesting ... pitty it' s about a rather not very cheap kit (£ 64, ouch).

niggs98 04-10-2008 06:08 AM

isnt the cheapest part/upgrade i know but is a fit and forget part that converts straight over and helps strenthen that area up totally

Cooper 04-10-2008 08:11 AM

but use the X10 rocker pivot posts and not the included hollow ones
+ buy it seperatly, bearings and stuff like that is the same, so it would be cheaper. + you don't REALLY need the rockers

Mrs.TeamXtreme 04-10-2008 08:26 AM

The X10 rockers are different to the X11 one's. The X10 rockers will sit to high and therefore change the suspension rate.

just what I was thinking about.

SO if I understand it correctly, I could do the same update buying just some parts:
  • the left & right Rocker crank: around £ 21,50
  • the front gearbox top: £ 4,25
  • Front cross member pin: £ 7,65
  • Front cross member: £ 29,78
... and not buying the bearings.

Coop, I guess that would ba a silly thing to do. Total of above items is: about £ 63,20
Offcourse it would be a different thing if I could use the X10-rockers and member pins that I actually have
