Running TC02 wishbones for low grip....

Has anybody tried this yet? We are running at Worksop in the morning and are trying it out, it certainly shortens the wheelbase...to about that of the new Durango +8mm chassis.

Unfortunately it also means that you cannot get the ride height lower than about 30mm, unless, like we have had to do, you cut down the rear springs a little. I dont know if we have gone about this the wrong way, what have other people found?

A few other bits...

What toe in does the kit come with as standard, looks about 3 degrees?
What anti-squat settings comes as kit set-up?

Will let y'all know how worksop goes tomorrow, wish us luck

It made a big difference at cold and slippy Mansfield! Not sure why you have ride height issues, I've had to jack up my spring adjusters to get some extra height lol. I used drive shafts, hubs and wishbones from the tc02c.

Anti squat settings are changed by spinning the rear pivot blocks 180 degrees as the holes are offset. You can get it from zero to about 3 degrees ish.

Not sure about toe in but yes it looks about 3 degrees, deffo looks less than a cougars standard 4 degree.

I would also think about running it without the 2 ally chassis braces to get a bit of flex

Hmm strange...we set the spring adjusters to as low as possible but it was still wayyyy too high, dunno what we did wrong? : /

Actually you got me thinking so I've just had a Look at my car, and you are right I had my small bores with soft springs on and ride height was fine, with big bores on the lowest I can get it is about 22mm, that's with shocks inside at top and outside at bottom. Depending on tomorrow's track you might need some height though!

Lol...well, im kinda glad that you've found the same, it'll save me some worrying tonight! I had it at 30mm on the middle tower hole and inner wishbone hole until some spring chopping action occured!

Ive now set the ride height to 19mm so will see how it goes in the morning. Thanks for setting me straight on the toe in and antisquat...what does it come with as kit, 0?

Think kit standard is zero yes

Are you using tc02 hubs or the stock hubs with tc02 wishbones?

I've tried it with the 2wd rear end including the 1 degree alloy hubs, i ran 19mm without cutting the springs with 20wt losi oil and drilled out pistons. The car is a lot more nervous on the shorter wheelbase and will be very dependant on the design of the track. Please let me know how it goes.

Alec
