Thanks to Cobra for this, it seems I've managed to grab a rather nice Associated B2. And unlike my other projects I've actually got on with this one.

Needed a new front shock tower but CML still had some stock of those :thumbsup:
Found a battery strap in France on ebay (needed the standard version and not the 'short' one).
And the B4 gear cover fits straight on :D
Wheels are still available from CML too - but only in yellow for front and rear so yellow it is.
KO2173 servo is fitted - which I think is later then the car but it's the oldest I've got.

Hunted out my old B2 shell I used back in the day which I'd kept - but never thought I was use it again!

I plan on it seeing some track action on the odd occasion at the mid-west regionals this year :wub
With brushed motor and speedo!

I'd love to find out which year and venue the Euros/Worlds chassis marking is from if anyone has any ideas.

Nice rebuild! Looks like you had a very decent base to start with & sounds like it didn't need much to complete.

The B2 & B3 buggies really don't seem to be as popular as their older brother with the ali chassis, or even the Losi XX of the same era as the B2/3, but the B2 especially is a rare car these days (many got converted into B3s).

Will be interesting to hear how you get on with racing this notoriously 'lively' buggy :cool:

P.S; there's something about your paint scheme that makes it appear like something you'd see in an episode of Casualty!

very nice i have a b2 aswell but not used it for years im missing the battery strap too, that seems to be common lol but i did have it at one point, just not sure where it is now

Do my mods, on mine i use a b4 layshaft and slipper clutch, ive made a cf plate and glued a chunck at the far end to stop it moving on the tower, doing this means 4400's fit. Put b3 wishbones on front with a plate across against the centre section and again like the b3, this strengthens the front more. If you want something different ive designed a cf rear tower but designed it around cat wing mounts so the wing lives on longer. I doubt that tower will break and fibrelyte do it.

Yes I agree with KRob, I run my vintage cars as they were even with brushed motors, but I do run Lipo power

The car cant handle a 6.5 with normal slipper so had to be modded but i used my b2 with wider front end as it balanced the car better in the 90's. Ok when the B3 came out i used the wishbones but did use others before.

I agree the standard slipper cant handle a hot modified motor...found out the hard way on my goldpan!! In fairness a B4 setup tucked away under the gear cover is not the end of the world and makes the car so much more usable IMO
